Paths to an academic internship
No matter where you are starting, AIO offers multiple paths to help you achieve your goals of an internship for credit. Every internship is a learning experience. All internships include meaningful work, mentorship, and reflection aligned with academic and professional growth.

Congratulations! Follow these steps to make sure your internship is reflected on your transcript:
- Consult with your academic advisor and/or internship coordinator to determine the requirements and expectations for an internship in your major. Find information for your major.
- Consider REAL 399 (0-3 credits) if your internship is outside of the context of your major options or requirements.
- Determine and enroll in the appropriate internship course.

- Consult with your academic advisor and/or internship coordinator to determine the requirements, expectations, and process for an internship in your major. Find information for your major.
- Go through the process outlined by your advisor/internship coordinator. Here are helpful tools for students who are instructed to search for internships on their own.
- Determine and enroll in the appropriate internship course. Consider REAL 399 (0-3 credits) if your internship opportunity is outside of the context of your major options or requirements.
